Our
adventure is finally over. Today we have finished the last part that took us
from Winnington to Beacon Hill, the shortest walk, 7 miles, (the longest was
17.7 miles) of the total of 95 miles.
I
absolutely loved the experience of walking on one of the oldest walking routes
in England, absolutely amazing landscapes and wildlife. I have experienced the
two extremes of weather conditions, beautiful blue skies and atrocious wet and
cold conditions which made the walk extremely difficult. What better example
than the last 24 hours, blue sky and 23C yesterday but today 11C, very cloudy
and cold and even a little bit of rain.
There
is no way I could have completed this walk without my good friend Harry Johnson,
he was amazing throughout this adventure, helped with the preparation, the driving
which most of the time was long distances but most of all his company and
encouragement during the walks. There is nothing better than walking with a
walking encyclopaedia. All I can say is a BIG Thank You Harry, I owe you one.
But
the most important outcome is that we have managed to raise £2,935, just £65
short of my target so if anyone want to help us achieve the target then please
use this link https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nikos-polydorou
Finally
another BIG Thank You, this time to all the people that have donated to such a
fantastic cause, your contributions will help Yateley Industries recover from
their financial difficulties and ensure their 87 employees, people with
disabilities, continue to have a job and some accommodation.
THANK
YOU from the bottom of my heart
